Steves first appearance in the first 11 was as a sub at right back , his first thing was a two footed lunge at some player i cant remember who but it was the battling terrier that made me think what a player

The thing that impressed me the most about Steven was the fact that the money didn't get to his head, like it does with most on his level.

I'm not sure. He was known at some point as 'Stevie Me' because of his hunt for personal glory. On the other hand he could have left Liverpool at various times, notably to Chelsea in the mid 2000's (apparently he was keen but Liverpool blocked the deal). In any case it was a shame he never lifted the Premier League trophy.

At half time in that CL final it was all over, Milan were utterly outclassing Liverpool. But Gerrard was a man posessed in the 2nd half, as were the rest of the Liverpool side to be fair.

rafa is a good manager , ask the toon , granted he loves the transfer market and has wound up a fair few boards but thats what the boards for isnt it ?

Rafa has the managerial skills. But I must admit I don't like his ultra professionalism, impressive as it is. The guy hardly ever celebrates a goal for his team which is sad. It's all kind of joyless and football is about emotion.

he was usually upset about a player forgetting a defensive job , but i dont doubt that even now Istanbul is one of his warmest memories

I think that if Real would need a player for Gerrrard's position then, they would have done all they could to get Steven.

really madrid ?have lost any footballers respect i reckon ever since they went and bankrupted themselves with their galacticos , clubs are about cash thats true but why is only one club gifted govt money to stave of administration ? relegation transfer ban ? only one club doesnt play by the rules so they aint playing football
