Stop making "People above you" threads

so i’ve been noticing that these forums have been flooded with threads like “would you date the person above you?” “rate the username of the person above you,” “what would you do to the person above you?” or that “kiss, marry, kill, date, hug, slap” stuff, and i gotta be real… it’s starting to get annoying. i know i’ve taken part in some of them before, but lately, it feels like every other post is one of these threads. it's like these random social games are taking over the whole forum, and it's making it harder to actually find posts that matter.
chess.com is supposed to be about chess – playing, learning, getting better, or at least talking about stuff that’s interesting. don’t get me wrong, i’m all for some fun and socializing, but when the forums get cluttered with these repetitive “person above you” posts, it takes away from the vibe. it's like going to a party to play games, but then everyone’s just stuck on their phones texting the same inside joke on repeat.
there's nothing wrong with having fun, but maybe we can tone it down a bit and focus on things that are actually engaging or related to chess. let’s keep the forums a place where we can actually learn, improve, and connect over the game we’re all here for. i'm sure we can come up with better ways to hang out here than just repeating the same types of posts. maybe it’s time to hit pause on all these “would you date/rate” threads and get back to talking about what we’re all here for – chess.
thanks for understanding, and let’s keep this place cool for everyone
