Stop with the ELO shaming...

I noticed that a lot of high rated players are making people feel bad, including me, for their rating, and Im sick of this. Not only do they attempt to use your rating as an argument for basically anything, but Ive also seen plenty of forums about how high rated players should basically become the rulers of Chess.com. It doesn't make sense. Why would you attack someone for their rating? Even if they have had their account for a long time, you don't know how busy they are or basically anything about why their rating is low. They act as if someones rating is the main factor when judging someones intelligence or even character. Sure, maybe some of this people are trolls, but it just seems like theirs to many instances of this for it just to be a couple trolls. For example, when I was very new to chess, someone who had a rating of 2000 in rapids challenged me to a game. Once they obviously one, they started telling me in the game chats about how bad I am at chess. Like, what? What did they expect? A fair fight? Again, they challenged me to the game. Do they just have such a large ego from their high rating that they just have the urge to make everyone feel as bad as possible? This gets me so angry! It isn't just to me either. Ive seen a lot of instances in public chats and forums of this. Sometimes it makes me want to block or not friend everyone above a rating of 2000. Of course Im not because a large amount of them are very friendly (shoutout to @ryry, he's awesome!). I have made this forum because I believe that this is a problem that should very much be addressed by the staff and community of this website. Also, to any high rated players who do this, I will report you if I see you. Not only have I seen a staff member, @Wind, post that ELO shaming is not allowed, but it also falls into the "Please be kind and respectful when chatting" message that is literally right in front of your eyes whenever you talk. So, please, STOP DOING THIS!

Probably. But they already are with their rating. Why do they need to bully people to gain something they already have? It doesn't make sense...

I hope so, and I hope they get banned and lose all their progress. Its what they deserve for bullying
