I don't use tactics trainer on site as much as I used, doing it mostly on Android, but I always thought the tags only showed up after the puzzle was completed.
I looked in the settings for TT, http://www.chess.com/tactics/settings.html, and if the Show Tags option is checked it doesn't show while attempting the tactic but it does when completing it. That is the behavior I remember it having after the tags feature was implemented.
Though, in my personal opinion, having the tags during the tactic is a crutch you should try to not rely on. We already have the advantage that we know there is a tactic there and it will improve our tactical vision if we try to find it without hints.
lately there is a problem with my tactic trainer. it doesn't show the tags of the problems which I try to solve. as a result, my rating has gone down drastically, and more importently, I haven't been able to enjoy the daily puzzle and tactics trainer features.
Is there a solution?
