another odd way to make/form/decide on a name. when jimmy page and robert plant were describing their new band to members of the who, keith moon replied that that type of band would go over like a lead zeppelin.

If I remember correctly, Robert Plant was not at that conversation.

But Rod Stewart was.

I recently came across an older book here from " LIFE " Magazine entitled " Rock & Roll at 50 ", lots of good info there.

pete best. wow. funny how things turn out. imagine if he stayed with the beatles. think ringo would be known worldwide?

ActivatePlan357

Ringo stared in the 1981 movie Caveman ... I heard it took the actors a long time to learn their lines in that movie

---   The book contains a list of the top 100 Rock & Roll acts of all time ( in the opinion of the writers of course ).

TheBestBeer_Root

Stevie Nix is up there, along with Perry from Journey

Perhaps nobody would have heard of Ringo.

Or, maybe would, but never heard of the Beatles.....

?!

🤔

oh, i doubt that second part, varelse. i don't think ringo wrote any beatles songs, so they would have still been brilliant.

yeah, all this stuff is in the eye of the beholder. perhaps a better idea would be to ask people that have followed music for decades to name the best shows they have seen.

AlCzervik

you made me look it up, as i'm quite familiar with the lennon-mccartney pact and the few songs george wrote. ringo is credited writing two of the beatles tunes.

so, if pete best had remained, i'm sure the band would still be considered the influence they have been.
