The computer on my iphone seems to be a lot harder than the one here. I don't really know why since they are both chess.com. Anyway, the computer here, I can easily beat on the easiest level but on my iPhone, not so much. And, yes, I found a free chess tactics server that is helping my game a lot. Thanks.
The computer and getting better

wow damn lol...you lose to the computer on easiest? even on hardest, where it's supposed to play at over 2000+ is really easy to beat it (it plays more like a 1600).I beat it for fun when I'm bored.
Hey chess isn't easy and most people suck...REALLY bad when they first start. Focus on tactics, and get a GOOD beginners book that will teach you the fundamentals (castling early, developing, basic tactics, basic endgames, etc). It takes a while, but eventually you should be playing more competently.
Man...losing to the comp on easiest...I mean...wow. That's bad.
I guess you were never a beginner, jumped right through that stage, right? You must be a very charismatic and great person.

Is it just me, or is the computer ridiculously good? I have a lot of trouble beating it on the easiest level here and cannot beat it at all on my iPhone. I lose so baddly on level one, that I actually thought I thought maybe that 1 was the hardest and 10 was the easiest.
I do not understand why I am so bad at chess. I play at least 10 games per day and lose almost all of them. Other people always see better moves that me. What is the first thing I should work on in order to improve my game?
1) Ignore arrogant idiots.
2) You might be "bad" at the moment but there's always room to improve. Train tactics daily on an online tactics server, get a good beginner's book like Logical Chess move by move by Chernev or a software like Chessmaster (esp. the Waitzkin lectures), analyze all your finished games with a good chess engine (google "Arena GUI" and "Houdini chess engine") and you'll improve.
There's also lots of very useful tools on this site too:

You can also do a forum search for similar forum posts on how to improve starting from a beginner level.

Thanks for the support guys! Hmm...maybe except for one of you up there... Anyway, yeah I started practicing tactics every day and my vision for the game is slowly starting to improve. I was at like a 700 rating a month ago and now I'm up to 1000. I know 1000 is still childs play but I am just happy that I am getting better.
