ax + b = c

ax = c - b

ax = d

x = d/a

x = e

NOTE: d = c-b and e = d/a

EX: 10x + 2 = 22

10x = 22 -2

10x = 20

x = 20/10

x = 2

Don't think you could fit that on a whiteboard, nor would most teachers bother writing it out. Probably just copied and pasted into their PowerPoints lol, but we never did cubic equations in high school or college actually, we did triple simultaneous equations, like 3 equations each with xyz 3 variables, but never 3rd power stuff.

Well I went to Brooklyn Tech, a STEM high school and we did not only quadratic formula but also completing the square, and a little bit of complex analysis as well in Algebra (of course none of that was on the regents though).
