The Environmental Thread violates the rules for the Off-Topic Forum

I reported the environmental post to the moderator.  Why?

Because people come here to have fun.  Clearly, the creator of that environmental thread clearly wanted to rile up people who have a thorough understanding of science.  Clearly, it was combative from the get-go and anyone could have predicted the result:  name-calling, politics, etc.

In the future, if you want start a controversial post that will OBVIOUSLY rile up the scientific community and those who support science with the intention of getting into a political debate, please go somewhere else.  This is chess.com and the Off-Topic is meant to be fun.

I come here to unwind . The last thing I want to see is someone referring to other people as "libs" or this or that.  It's rude, immature, and I'm tired of it.
