Get back in the saddle soon, Riker.

He's been placed on administrative leave and will not be partaking in any future away missions until he's been medically cleared by Dr. Crusher, and has re-qualified with a phaser. Commander Data is attempting to re-create the incident in the hollow deck.

Star Trek was all about the future right? Our wishes, dreams, and fears. The World's Fair at Chicago. A vision of tomorrow where robots do all our daily chors. George Jetson and flying cars. Well maybe not We are living in an age where cars drive themselves
Watch this 70 yr old grandmother drive a new Tesla in auto-pilot mode.
I remember reading Popular Science and Popular Mechanics magazines in the late 60s and early 70s, and their articles about "hands free" driving. As I recall, these vehicles were more like full-sized slotcars on the freeways, that could be converted to regular cars on the on the surface streets.
LOL Jamie I was a bit young back then but sure glad technology has found a way to eliminate the tracks for the car to ride on.
The way I drive I would be making a uturn a messing up everything. BTW I learned to drive on LA freeways (Scary).
I remember back in the 1970s when downtown Los Angeles seriously considered Disney-style monorails and people movers. My Dad worked at the ARCO Towers downtown. They had a big underground mall complex there.
I can just barely remember the Pacific Electric Redcars from a decade before that. I was, maybe, 4 years old, if that. I also remember going to a brand new Dodger Stadium with my Dad.
He told me about attending AAA Angels games at the original Wrigley Field in east LA, and seeing the Hollywood Stars at Gilmore Field. The Pacific Coast League was like a major league before the Dodgers and Giants moved west.
I was there right after it happened, and this is what he looked like
NOW look at him
