I dom't know about decades. Advances in Technology may move that quicker if we have to check off the winding years. The blue fin, along with the Remus 6000 should be kept running with the info transmitted to a Navy sub in real time, if that's technologically possible. If the're 6 miles down, they wouldn't have to stop for a storm on the surface.
The missing plane

CNN and NBC is reporting that another plane from Malaysia has crashed. This time over land, Ukraine. About 300 people killed. It just accured, so lets not jump to conclusions about pilot error, or mchanical, or whatever. 7/17/14 12noonEST

Reports are it may have been shot down. Of course Ukraine says it was Russia that shot it down. The pic I saw was pretty bad. Looks like their was a huge fire along with the crash.

Well, intelligence reports have a record of a SAM (surface to air missell) being launched but I'm sure the vehicle moved right after it struck. It would blend into the scenery, unless they (Ukraine) have a record of matching the vehicle number to the location. That would narrow down the "who" shot it down. The why is anybody's guess. I wonder if the ABORT command was given a half second to late.

I don't think airliners get shot down by accident. If it is not obviously a terrorist attack, the first question that pops into my head is, was there somebody on that airplane that they wanted dead?
Conspiracy thinking? Well, I would say you have to be a fool to say there aren't any. One thing for sure, I wouldn't want to be on any flight Snowden was on; who btw, I think should get a medal of honor!
UPDATE; 2am EST. CNN is saying that the bulk of the deaths are from the Netherlands, 154. 24 from Australia, 9 from Great Britain, 4 from Germany, 1 from Canada, 3 infants. They rest are un-confirmed, plus these numbers may be off a little.

I recommend NOT booking a flight with Malaysia Airlines. 2 planes down in 6 months, both from the same airline? Screw that! I'll take being boxed in like a sardine on an America Airlines flight over going missing or having my flight shot down...
MA will probably be uninsurable after this. As far as conspiracy theories one headline I read said 100 AIDS researchers were on the flight. They were on their way to a conference in Australia.

hahahaa You gotta love those conspiracies. Why don't we start one. I heard they were transporting ALIENS. On a serious note, back in the early 90's, US Air had a series of crashes. They had to overhaul their entire maintenance. Somebody else went through a series of crashes, I can't remember who, I'm just waking up.
Well you wake up pretty fast when you listen to Anderssen Cooper. He had a doctor on the phone. The doctor had walked through the debris field, and said they need refrigeration trucks. Anderson was trying to be as tactful as possible and he says, "are the bodies intact". The doctor says about 50/50. So to get off the gorry details, there's a picture of a lot of luggage in one pile. It fell from 30,000 feet and the're not broken open. Now THAT'S the kind of luggage I want.
