I look to The Mountain (idk how to do the line thing I’m sorry) and sigh.
”shouldn’t have taken that bet…”

At the base of The Mountain lies a small little tourist area, a shoddy wooden building comprised of a guide room, a map room, a shop, and the entrance. A person is sitting outside of the tourist area, munching on a granola bar.
(bump)
I also look to The Mountain, shivering from the cold.
"This is just the base? I should've brought multiple jackets."
The person eating the granola bar is wrapped in a really thick coat with goggles, a scarf, gloves, boots, a myriad of different climbing gear, and a backpack so big that it's a miracle he manages to walk a few feet, let alone aspire to even attempting to climb The Mountain.
"Oh, hey! Are you looking to climb The Mountain too?"
"Yeah, of course I am! I need to be prepared to climb The infamous Mountain after all. What do you have in preparation of this monumental task? At least, I'm assuming that you're climbing The Mountain, right?"
"Oh. Sad. Well, I'm sure there's gear in the tourist center area over there. And I'm sure all these other lost souls in the distance could join our epic odyssey! Ooh, I can see it now!"
“Yea-“
*intrusive thoughts: why don’t you just kill him and steal his stuff*
”wh-where did THAT come from?”
The large wooden signs all around the area reading:
"TOURIST CENTER HERE"
Cough at you very loudly, in your imagination of course. Dozens of arrows point toward the tourist center, a brown speck of wooden in a sea of gray and white.
At the edge of the world, in a little-known country at the fringes of civilization, there lies a mountain, simply known as The Mountain (all text effects are mandatory), the tallest and most perilous in the world. It lies beyond three smaller mountains, each more deadly than the others. Once you finally reach the base of The Mountain, the dangers aren't only from the elements, as a great few creatures inhabit the frozen peaks of The Mountain, all of them hostile.
No one has ever conquered the summit, or even made it halfway up the endless faces, ridges and sheer climbs that entail the journey, though many have tried. However, the rewards for conquering this trial are too great to resist for some. The rewards are beyond reckoning, wealth, fame, a life devoid of wants.
Safe travels, and good luck on your climb!
