Brian if you can’t pay for college join the military

You get free college or training school not only for you but your FAMILY too through the GI bill

Instead of seeing what you want to do and placing obstacles in your path how about going right through those obstacles and not taking “no” for an answer?
UnclePeet
Yes yes…we will all sing songs and dance and smoke ALL DAY LONG then play Xbox until dawn

Right?
UnclePeet
For gods sake ppl you could be a damn BUS DRIVER and still make a living

the funny thing is the 'corporations' own most of the money floating in the economy, and those same entities are actively trying every way to cut corners and save costs (which is just good business sense), but they are simultaneously damaging the morale of employees and tainting community outreach programs and 'philanthropic' initiatives designed to enrich the world but instead sefishly serves their own financial bottom line. ask yourself why are the 'corporations' continually dumping toxic sludge and chemical byproducts (which are all too often leading to birth defects and general lower quality of life in '3rd world' developing nations) in places where their influence doesn't mean a thing? 'corporations' are also to blame for my neighbour (who has a cousin who intimately can relate the details) losing his lucrative technology job with a prominent pharmacology company that decided to outsource his position to someone who considers themselves lucky to work for a fraction of what that kind of work would demand of a self-respecting human in a 'capitalist' society (to rub salt on the wound, he was forced to train his replacement). the same thing happens with landscaping or construction firms that hire people lacking proper documentation to work legally in said country, just to pay them 'under the table' so they don't get taxed and the IRS doesn't come knocking (which btw, opens the door to a ton of fraud and abuse). ask yourself why do the 'corporations' preach equality of opportunity in the 'land of the free' but their own practices consistently conflict with their self-preaching? does that not signal something wrong with society itself and the values we hold dearly

UnclePeet
You have been poisoned

This makes me angry here…you are young. You are literally possibility incarnate.

Who has convinced you otherwise?
ChampoftheBepoCamp

Hmmm you seem to have problems with Gender study and equality... @UnclePeet

UnclePeet
You are correct

Equality doesn’t exist and gender study is a ridiculous waste of time and money.

Equality of OPPORTUNITY exists.

We already have that.

Gender studies exists too. Unfortunately.

Luxury employed a million of the poor, and odious pride a million more.
Envy itself, and vanity, were ministers of industry.
Their darling folly fickleness, in diet, furniture and dress,
That strange ridiculous vice was made, the very wheel that turned the trade.

Thus vice nursed ingenuity, which joined with time and industry,
Had carried life's conveniences: It's real pleasures, comforts, ease,
To such a height, the very poor lived better than the rich before.

Meet the 1% (occupy Wall Street).

TLDW? Very wealthy "1%er" explaining things to people who can barely tie their own shoelaces.

Everyone gets poorer under communism. That was one of Mandeville's points in my original post: the poor being lifted along with the rich to a better standard of living.

.......and the rich getting richer on the back of the poor ! 🙀

Trickle-Down Economics AKA Reaganomics AKA “let’s give more money to rich corporations and somehow the wealth will ‘trickle’ down for everyone” convinced me that the system is rigged…40 years later, nothing happened, except the rich got richer and the poor got poorer.

Last year in 2020, in one of the worst economic situations in history due the pandemic, the economy was hit hard, many companies lost business, and 40 million Americans filed for unemployment….. and yet the rich got richer, like $1 trillion dollars richer. Capitalism is great isn’t?

"We're richer than we were 55 years ago, and have fewer people on very low incomes. But the gap between rich and poor is much larger" - the institute for fiscal studies.

I've made several posts on here before about the rise in use of things like foodbanks because of the lockdowns.
