The Science of Biological Evolution (no politics or religion)

I would just like to say, that if you look at the rules in more detail, they say "no religious or political debate on the regular forums" (emphasis added)

You asked for scientific input, ergo:

Max Planck (1858-1947) was a Nobel Prize-winning German physicist and the father of quantum theory. His work in the field of theoretical physics led the way to many advances throughout the 20th century.

To Quote him, "All matter originates and exists only by virtue of a force which brings the particle of an atom to vibration and holds this most minute solar system of the atom together. We must assume behind this force the existence of a conscious and intelligent mind. This mind is the matrix of all matter."

Planck was a scientist, but this is not science. (It comes from a non-scientific talk of his when he was 86 years old). There is no "we must assume" in science. There are rather observations and explanations of those observations, and tests of those explanations using other observations. Planck's pronouncement is philosophy, and is not a conclusion but a stated assumption. To be generous, it is a rather extravagant hypothesis.

It is worth noting that not everything a scientist says is science, and even the greatest scientists can be wrong if their statements are not adequately founded (eg a couple of Einstein's stated hypotheses). This is particularly so in old age, of course.

All modern day physicists are in agreement with Max Planck on this point.

No, they most certainly are not. In fact most scientists do not detect a reason to postulate some anthropomorphic intelligence behind what are mathematical laws of physics.

You are the ones who are denying science and the Creator who established the laws of physics. You are the ones that are in denial. You are the product of public schools, a dumbed down generation of idiots desperately seeking a plausible explanation to justify your denial of the truth. The truth is that you are a wicked generation and all of your pseudo-science will not save you from your fate of death.

For those seeking scientific evidence, here is the link:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gjvuwne0RrE

It is a link to the current scientific evidence and the facts of quantum physics.

No it is a drunk-sounding spiel by a rather odd chap who seems to be best known for a safe robbery. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trey_Smith

Now you will block me because I have exposed the bull crap that you so stupidly believe.

Maybe you are right about evolution; with your way of thinking maybe you are descended from Apes.

We all have exactly the same distant ancestors: that is a statistical fact. If you go back a million generations or so, those ancestors were more ape-like than human like. There is no more shame in that than that you developed from a single cell in your mother's uterus.

It's a logical fallacy to believe that humans could derive from simpler organisms. This is why evolution is a false teaching of the Enemy who is trying to destroy families by blocking our ability to teach Genesis in Biology classes. Give our students a balanced approach. There is no shame in admitting that a heavenly zombie named Rabbi Jesus has magical power over our lives. No shame at all.

Simply no.

I advise reading a good article about logical fallacies, so that you know what the words you write mean.

You are hopelessly lost in the morass of the mind that you did not create. Trey Smith wrote a book about the so-called, great safe robbery and it is very popular and funny.

I read an article on it, and found it a rather shocking description of a debauched lifestyle (involving a crack cocaine business and pimping prostitutes) in which he was a full and enthusiastic participant.

One dumb hypocrite stealing a safe from another more cunning hypocrite does not make him qualified to write about biology. This requires years of study and development of expertise.

I see you thrive on innuendo and jeers against any challenge. Planck referred to the unseen force as the glue that holds it all together, and today scientists are still puzzled to define it.

You surely know nothing about particle physics, but I can inform you none of the papers on the subject involve any conscious intelligence. It's all about mathematical models of reality.

You are little more than an educated buffoon who revels in pseudo-scientific psycho-babble. You did not take time to watch Trey's presentation, you went straight to Wiki... to look for dirt.

The wiki article is hardly scathing, but neither does it provide any reason to believe Trey has any scientific knowledge at all.

I dipped into the video in a few places and to me it seems like the ramblings of someone with little knowledge.

You need a sarcasm detector. I thought the use of the magical zombie would have been a good clue.

I can't stand the 20th and 21st century arrogance coming from all the test tube labs. It's 'cuz we haven't gone anywhere. We're desperately seeking the science of Susan and yet the same old questions keep coming up and nothing is getting confirmed. In fact we're back to ?'ing the BB Theory !

It's the same arisings from 5000 years ago. I'm outta patience....how about you ?

The S-T Continuum is a tragicomedy straight outta a play that Minkowski wrote 'cuz he couldn't otherwise water the vegetables of his own confirmation bias.....or something like that.

(Cookie's Mai Tai is kicking in....4give me....)

What I'm trying to say is that the S-T continuum is the single most wrongheaded red herring and has taken the error of confirmation bias to a very ugly, new multi-millenium level.

There. That makes me feel better....Smile....

And Rocky ?....you own me a <3 felt TY for reviving this dead thread that has made you a ticking S-T bomb for many yellow moons and happy faces !

You are a mental midget. All of your comebacks are gross exaggerations, innuendo, supposition and personal attacks. I like the way you said this with no apparent sense of irony. You would make a good candidate for President. Your so-called knowledge of science is sadly lacking in veracity. You throw around words like "ENERGY." Any physicist knows that energy does not exist, it is nothing but a mathematical convenience, Energy is a snapshot of an event in time. Who told you this? When discussing dynamic physics one must refer to POWER, both real and apparent. This simple observation of your writings is all that's required by an electronic systems engineer or a physicist to recognize that you know nothing about science. As far as my knowledge of quantum mechanics goes, it's a mountain compared to your mole hill. You can't possibly know this and frankly, I'm highly sceptical. I loathe blowing my own horn but, in your case I will (although I expect nothing short of ridicule from your type) ... you are facing someone with a 4,0 GPA in physical chemistry, mathematics and electronic systems engineering. You might fool the educationally deprived but, your silly science doesn't fool me. I don't think you need anyone's help for this, friend.

Oh dear... Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear, oh dear, oh dear.

This could get messy, "fools rush in", and all that.

Religion stated about a huge amount of knowledge. So,the big chance is it will always be natural.

People with poor scientific knowledge often claim things like "The space-time continuum doesn't exist", without understanding that such a statement has a very precise scientific meaning. The space-time continuum is part of the description of the world called general relativity. As a result, a claim about the space-time continuum is a claim that the theory of general relativity is false.

This is not a claim that stands on its own like an opinion about what is the best pop song. Rather it is subject to the scientific method, which involves doing experiments and making observations and comparing those observations to the predictions of the theory.

Thus far, all tests of general relativity have been successful: the detection of the bending of ray of light from a star by the Sun; the analysis of the precession of the the orbit of Mercury; the measurement of the slowing of a clock when it is raised in the Earth's gravitational field; the blue shift of light "dropped" towards the Earth; and the most impressive successful prediction yet (indeed, one of the most impressive successful predictions ever, IMO), that of the gravitational waves emitted by the merger of two black holes.

These are what it means for the space-time continuum to be real.

Visualisation of a supercomputer simulation, modelling the equations of general relativity.

Such calculations predict a very specific pattern of gravitation waves which were theoretically detectible billions of light years away. I say "were", because now they have been detected, so the detection is no longer theoretical. An interesting feature was that the detection was at a slightly different time at two detectors, because the waves move at the speed of light. This difference in time gave some indication of where the merger took place. More than two detections would enable detection of the precise direction. In all likelihood, this will be possible in the future.
