The science of washing your hands (no religion, no goth)

This is a serious discussion about the most efficient way to wash your hands. I am not a doctor, but I wash my hands like one, as in many many times a day. Until about a year ago I always used warm/hot water. But a scientific article I read claims water temp is not important of you are using soap. At the time I took that as true but am now beginning to question this "truth".

Evidence: Hot water alone can rid surfaces of, say food, more efficiently than cold water, so why/how could cold water be as effective?

Diakonia

Friction is the most important factor when washing your hands.

Hmmm, I'll take that under advisement

I think the best way is to put them in blocks of ice. The freezing temperatures kill all germs.

What's goth?

Funny idea, it would do the trick, and with efficiency

Indeed Exnos. They say we could cure the common cold if every body would wash their hands routinely.

I'm emo, which is like goth, but more existential and/or suicidal.
Tomtalk
You are suicidal?

How can washing hands turn into religion?

Tom do you know how to post a game?

tomiki

Washing of the hands can be an expression of being done with a topic.  Or as a matter of cleanliness,

Tomtalk
Post a game? Do you mean start a game?
Tomtalk
Oh iro your topic I guess unless the water is actually boiling it probably doesn't matter if it's hold of cold. It's just a more pleasant experience warm.
Ghostliner
I wash my hands religiously.
