czechsalmon you’re absolutely right , it doesn’t do any harm . It’s up too the receiver of the request, to decide wether to accept or decline.
This question has bern addressed--and answered--many times...one answer, yet again, is that sometimes people mistakenly click on the "Add Friend" tab when trying to click on the "Profile" tab directly above it...another answer is that people regularly send out random Friend Requests in order to gather a lot of Friends, either because of an Achievement being pursued or to fill some void in their lives by having a lot of "friends"...
