First allow me to openly state that my mathematical ability is terrible. I can do figures and problems in my head, assuming I understand them
I think...a LOT, what chess player doesn't? When I was about 4 years old I was standing in front of a fish tank (not sure where) when I turned to my mother and asked her, "Mommy...does water float?" She couldn't truly answer my question at the time. Throughout the years I have questioned molecular bonding theory, fission/fusion, MPD, and a massive assortment of philosophical questions, often without having much, if any knowledge regarding it.
Now these last few years have been interesting. I am certainly still asking questions, often without answers, and my most recent one has been the theory of numbers. Specifically the number 128. This number does have mathematically significant details attached to it that I won't go into as I am certain I won't be able to explain them properly. Not putting the math aside, what is it's significance?
Lemme tell you, this number comes up quite a bit. I have considered that perhaps it comes up most often because it is what I am looking for and I have tested this theory to little avail. You computer geeks will realize that 128 is a bit encryption type, half of 256 and is often related to the important 2^7. Half of 128, 64, often comes up in software computing to my knowledge. Thinking about it, if 128 was broken down we would see the various factors as important in everyday life.
For instance, in psychology an 8-year old will start to become more independent and often more confident in social interactions. 8 years old is also a common development time for writing and reading skills. They will also begin to combine and tactfully use previous skills to solve problems that they are faced with. Math skills begin to more fully develop and physical abilities and skills tend to shine through more often in this stage of development.
I don't need to tell you the significance of 16 for the general populace I hope ^^
At 32 we begin to see the drop off of prime physical development. Cognitive functions tend to remain sharp, but emotional boundries start to rear their ugly heads. The phrase "Catch-30 Passage" illustrates the sometimes chaotic state of moving from the 20s to the 30s and 32 is often the stop-off point...
Bah! I won't go on. Even to me this sounds like a bunch of tosh. Chances are simply that there is no significance beyond computing in regards to 128. The only simple and real explanation I can come up with is that since 128 is significant in the computer world that this number, due to the mathematical nature of our universe, just has factors related to it that I am not able to understand. It could truly be any number of 'things' and hell, maybe I am right! But equally and perhaps more probable is that I am wrong.
But heck, life wouldn't be any fun if we all didn't have at least one illogical question that is never answered! That, I think, is half the fun of learning.
Note: I apologize for my grammar here and there. I am too lazy to fix anything more than misspellings if it isn't a paper for a journal or class. What can I say haha *rubs back of head*
