The value of life (No religion or politics).

I spent some years teaching world history to 11th and 12th graders
Ah I see. I took AP U.S. History this year. I thought it was pretty easy compared to AP world history, though that’s probably due to more studying haha.
My degree is world history not US.

College is about a decade away for me.
How old are you?
I’m nine.
What? I don't believe it.

I’m pretty sure I’m nine.
You've been here since you were seven and have a 1200 rating?
No, I’m planning to make it rise higher. I hit the wrong button when setting my default ratings. And I’ve been here since I was five.
You're too literate to be nine. You must be at least 15. And smarter than the average 15 year old.
I swear that’s my age. That’s what I told everyone else. And the first sentence got me.

I have a question. I've been loosely following this thread and the main point that I keep seeing is that you make your own meaning in life, your purpose is whatever you decide it is. How does this resonate with our conscience? What if I decide my purpose in life was to exterminate all other humans, would you say that's meaningful and has value? (Also, to avoid conflict in the posts, I'm going to argue all of my points from a neutral point of view.)

I think the human conscience itself is a fascinating thing, that all of us have a basic knowledge of right and wrong. (Like we would all agree that murder is wrong.)
