Did you or did chessdotcom deleted your comment?

Hmm, let me check... at first I thought they deleted my comments in the first topic... but before I accuse them I guess I should be sure to check every page...

Unicorn_Horn12

Yeah, I can't find the comments in the original article... even though I was saying the same thing as many people.

Mods are pretty stupid so I'm not surprised.

I do not see your comment, except the last one about "ideal world"

Unicorn_Horn12

Oh yeah, they deleted those too.

Their ideals are good, but I disagree with how they're going about it.

Still waiting for the “General Chess Discussion” part but it seems to be nowhere in sight.

It is on chessdotcom, so I guess it is general...

While the subject is uncomfortable, how can CC, being the biggest chess site in the world, not post it when major newspapers have? They essentially have no choice in deciding whether to publish it or not.

Elaborate please, I still don't see it.

That’s one of your problems. You need sensitivity training.

CC is going full retard:

The Reason I Quit: WIM Chevannes Speaks Against Sexual Assault, Misogyny - Chess.com

My comment there, in case they delete it:

"This behavior is seen as normal." - I do not believe her!

I would be a fool to believe that something like that never happens, but I would be just as foolish to believe that it is normal at all the chess clubs and tournaments.

It is a "blood libel" of sorts, putting the target on the backs of all men.

Do not bow down to these woke ideological attacks; stay strong and stay tall.

Chess players as a community are generous, honorable, and protective, despite some bad apples here and there.

I just commented there too. Maybe those of you not believing women are getting harassed in the chess world should do a social experiment by dressing up as women and enter some tournaments to see if you get harassed by men. How would you do that? You guys figure it out.

Harassment and "sexual violence" are two different things.

I use quotation marks because those words were used in the open letter article where chess.com deleted my comments.

Unicorn_Horn12

Slippery slope arguments are nonsense.

And in the first place I didn't claim harassment doesn't exist or isn't important.

If we don’t address harassment in the early stage, they can escalate to sexual violence.

Giving a girl a comment about her dress is not a harassment, and definitely not a sexual abuse.

Just saying

This is part of the problem. When they don't give any details we have no way of knowing.

Unfortunately the people talking about these things are being rather incompetent... I don't know why that is.

For example in the recent article it says:

"One prominent name is former Women's World Champion GM Susan Polgar, who has regularly shared her own negative experiences with harassment during her years as a professional."

But this is downplaying the actual physical abuse that took place. She really was a case of illegal, physical, sexual assault, but they downplay it as "harassment" so readers are not sure if it was "a comment about her dress."

---

These women should definitely tell their stories, but the media apparatus that acts as megaphone needs to put it through some professional editorializing. Certainly better than whatever id|ots are working for chess.com. That's my opinion on that...

Indeed, individual perverts need to be exposed and punished.

Chessdotcom shut down comments for the other article as well now:

The Reason I Quit: WIM Chevannes Speaks Against Sexual Assault, Misogyny

Let's talk about it as well.

PromisingPawns

I don't think we have to say anything about it. The women are saying that they go through it, now it's upto FIDE to do something.

If it is up to FIDE or even police to do something about it, why chessdotcom is pushing it so hard?

Be survivors not victims

It's worth delving into the potential sinister financial motives that might underlie her propagation of what could be likened to a "blood libel" against chess players.

She seems to be strategically presenting herself as both an entrepreneur and a prominent figure, emphasizing her identity as a Black Lady Boss and a former professional chess player. Adding to this, her assertion of being a MENSA member adds an interesting layer to her profile, making her appear as a well-equipped provocateur to enflame and eventually destroy the global chess community.

I hope so as well. Chessdotcom is coming across in a bad light imho, when they post an article and then shut down the conversation. I am glad we can at least so it here in the forums.

As usual chessdotcom shut down the conversation, so you can continue here:

FIDE Sparks Criticism With Controversial New Transgender Policy

Please be respectful and thoughtful in your comments, we don't want them to shut this down as well.

Coddiwompler

They also deleted all the comments!

It feels like chessdotcom got infected with woke ideology and is pushing it on chess players any chance they get.

What do you guys think?
