Maybe it's just the timing?
Thread killer supreme
I've heard other people say the same. Maybe it happens more often than people realize, and it's just that some people notice it more than others?

Perhaps - Was worried people were being scared off by my profile picture - wondered if I should have chosen one that shows me in a better light - maybe with a bag over my head? lol

Hahah I have exactly the exact same virus, most threads that I infect just stop. And it hurts because all I want to do is contribute to the discussion, and I enjoy reading feedback. It's a relief to see I'm not the only one with this sickness. We should form a thread killers anonymous.
I highly doubt people refuse to respond to posts based solely on a picture.
Even though you're speaking in a light-hearted manner, jokes like that doesn't help.

I love that idea...
I can see weekly meetings where we all get a chance to stand up and say how our progress is going
Hello I am Soorat and I am a recovering thread killer
This week I have managed to go three full days without killing a thread

Soorat, you are more intelligent than the average chess.com member here, and we get confused quickly.....we just stop talking and go back to shampooing rugs in our houses.

Since I do it a lot as well, and I'm usually drinking, that would be "threadslaughter"--accidental threadkilling while intoxicated.

Sharon, let's get you hooked on Fresca or Mountain Dew......or something other than BOOOOOZE. That darn booooze. I like putting extra "o"s in there when I say 'booze'.

I'm sorry, but I'm a professional intoxicologist;) Amelia Earhart didn't give up disappearing. She's a professional as well.
So you're suggesting I should only make humourless posts?
Not at all. I'm suggesting you take it easier on yourself.
Have the thread killers tried posting in all of the "Last person to post is..." threads? That'd be one good perk of being a mod. A mod can post in it last, and then lock it. A true thread killer. The rest are just threadslaughters since it's accidental.

Well, when it happens to me, it's clearly because I addressed the OP's point so comprehensively there's nothing left say.
(thread closed)

Soorat, you are more intellgent than the average chess.com member here, and we get confused quickly.....we just stop talking and go back to shampooing rugs in our houses.
OMG I forgot to shampoo my rugs. Gotta go. :))

Lol - no I don't think thats true ... find me one post I have sounded even vaguely intellegent in ...

Why is it that as soon as I make a post in a thread others seem to stop posting?
It doesn't happen all the time but out of the 14 or so threads I've posted in I'd say well over half I've made a post or comment and that's managed to kill the thread completely.
Never been my intention to kill a conversation
Is it just me???
