Tri-Dimensional Chess set broken; how can I fix it?

Several years ago I acquired the Star Trek Tri-Dimensional Chess set from the Franklin Mint. I've always kept it in the box for safe keeping when I'm not using it. But after a few moves the base broke from the stand. The game is unplayable since the board will not stay upright. Does anyone know how I could fix it?

Have you tried super-glue.?

That wouldn't work. The base is hollow, so there isn't anything to support the stand if I try to glue it.

I assume you're talking about this.?   Get some wood at Home Depot, make another base.  Or take it to a machine shop.                                              null

Yes, that's what I'm talking about. And you're right, I might have to find a machine shop.

I have three of these and one was so wobbly, I cut it free from the stand, drilled two holes in the brass bar and the stand to take two lengths of coat hanger wire and hot glued them together.
I trimmed the glue over flow when it had cooled and it's my least wobbly version of the board.
Which rules do you use, please?
