Tri-Dimensional Chess set broken; how can I fix it?

Several years ago I acquired the Star Trek Tri-Dimensional Chess set from the Franklin Mint. I've always kept it in the box for safe keeping when I'm not using it. But after a few moves the base broke from the stand. The game is unplayable since the board will not stay upright. Does anyone know how I could fix it?
Have you tried super-glue.?

That wouldn't work. The base is hollow, so there isn't anything to support the stand if I try to glue it.
I assume you're talking about this.? Get some wood at Home Depot, make another base. Or take it to a machine shop.
