I know you can't use words but I can't type the symbol for two squared so....if the word two is a trick in the question there you have it, though to be grammatically correct it should read ....using only two, 2's and any mathematical symbols...just to be pedantic heh heh

Think of a number below 10...
Double it...
Add 6...
Divide by 2...
Take away the number you originally thought...

2^2 perhaps?

Is that how it's done on a comp screen?

Square root of 22 = 4.69 which rounds up to 5

Nope. The answer is EXACTLY 5.

Avatar of Endapuppy
Ok.... how about two^2 + 2/2 = 5 .... exactly 5
Avatar of EndgameEnthusiast2357

that's 4 2s. Words aren't allowed either!

Ok so the word two in the question can't be used?

I give up then...what's the answer

If you cubed 2, you would get 8. That uses 2 once.

From statistics, I believe there is a symbol used to sum all of the digits below and including a number. For example 4 with this symbol would be 1+2+3+4=10.

So, using this symbol from statistics (I don't recall the symbol) with 2 (used a second time, now) and subtracting from the first 2 cubed, the result after the mathematical application of the symbols would be 8-3=5. (The cube symbol is a 3; however, in this context it is not a number, it is a math symbol).

u can't use any other numbers. Only 2s and exactly two 2s.
