Hmm a HE shell gives around 10 000 joules while a 275kg cannonball at 300km/h has almost 1 million joules

Made a mistake its around that many megajoules, but thats spread in all directions INCLUDING where the shell was shot from so more than half is Wasted. For a cannonball the energy is focused on less than 1 mm²

HE shells give most energy as heat, but almost all armor (could be armored wehickes or humans') are at least partially resistant to fire and Burning in most forms
