Hello Chess.com Team and Community,

I hope this post finds you well. I’m writing to bring attention to an important issue regarding the national flags displayed on our platform. As an international community, Chess.com proudly represents players from all corners of the globe, and our flags are an essential part of showing respect and recognition to each country's identity.

That being said, I would like to kindly request updates for the flags of South Sudan, Afghanistan, and Syria. These countries have undergone significant changes, and it is important that their flags be accurately represented on the site.

South Sudan: As the world’s youngest nation, South Sudan gained independence in 2011, yet the flag currently displayed might not represent the most recent or accurate design.
Afghanistan: The political situation in Afghanistan has evolved drastically, and the national flag has been subject to change in recent years. It is crucial that the flag displayed reflects the current and official design.
Syria: Similarly, Syria has seen changes in its political landscape, and it is important that the national flag displayed accurately reflects the current status of the country.

I fully understand that updating flags across a platform of Chess.com’s size and complexity can take time. However, I strongly believe this is an area where a little more urgency could be applied. It shouldn’t take so long for these important updates to be made, especially given the significance of these flags to the players from those countries. The delay in reflecting these changes might also unintentionally convey a lack of recognition or attention to players from these regions.

We all know that small details like these matter, and maintaining accuracy in every aspect, especially something as simple as a national flag, can go a long way in fostering a sense of respect and inclusivity within the Chess.com community.

I kindly request that these flag updates be prioritized, as I believe they will be meaningful for all users, particularly those representing these nations. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter, and I look forward to seeing these updates soon.

Best regards,
Amr
