what are we? why I've given up the search

yes, just be free of all intelligent statements. freedom to suck at writing up threads, freedom to not have a clue, freedom is the lifeblood of the Internet.

There's this thing . You have to know to be worthwhile . You don't have to know !

So that's it then I guess . Time to join the others in just not wondering about what I am .

The funny thing is though I know even now I am love .

Despite what all the views I've heard have said.

all is well in the ivory tower then.

I've found that actually peace comes through not looking for the truth.

No this isn't a search for the truth . It's about letting go of the search . I just wondered if anyone had a similar experience or insight .

That sounds good and dandy, but how did you let go of the search? Free will?! Haha.

I think what happened with me was that I observed my consciousness. So much so that finally I saw that actually I didn't have to find the truth to find peace I just had to stop looking .

It's not that I'm not open . I'm interested in everything the would has to show me .

Like awareness you know . Just consciousness. I think somewhat ironically our most evolved state is our most simple state .

Just noticing what is .

That is a nice ideal, but the mind ordinarily behaves in a different way.   It doesn't 'just' notices what is happening: it works overtime, always active, day and night. So that is the state of mind one must begin with, rather than with the ideal of having a mind capable of noticing the present moment.

No not free will .

What happened for me is that it became a necessity for me to look within for I was broken . Faulty .

After I did I noticed that actually experience isn't how we are conditioned to believe .

So I wondered you know .

Finally I returned to looking within this time so as not to be fixed but to find the truth of what we are .

I had a lot of interesting experiences , found that essentially we are nothing but that within life there is love .

Finally found that peace isn't found within the knowing the truth but within the not searching for the truth .

It's as you say anyway Troy . The truth is ever changing .

Joseph I just loved that cartoon and actually my experience is very much that way and actually why not ?

We might believe we control the world but do we really ?

Of course not . There are a million things every day that could alter the course of our lives .

Like hawking taking about that toy car rolling down the bumpy hill .

Most people don't 'search for truth', Tom: that doesn't mean truth is obvious to them. Quite the contrary.

As I said before, we seem to be changing all the time, 'our truth'( the truth of what we are) is changing as well. But that is only on the surface. The structure that supports that perceived change is not changing. The structure is fixed in place.

And unless that structure dissolves somehow, there is no truth to be 'seen'. You cannot observe 'through that structure', as it were: the structure prevents observation.

Troy I'm interested . I'm no longer searching but I'm still interested . I'll move back to what are we?

Only you're not! An intellectual statement doesn't solve the problem either.Tolle is confusing people by giving them advice on how to behave: 'if you go back to your parents after you ran away, do this', in an elevator, behave like that'--which is sheer nonsense.

Help(so to speak) others come to light, then they'll figure out what to do, don't act like 'a canfdle in the dark', which encourages people to remain in darkness..

come on, never give up. Lets talk about what we are bois and girls Laughing

I have moved back to what are we? Till !

For fun though , I've realised peace comes from giving up looking .

Then you've given up the map also, otherwise nothing was given up...
