What do you see and think of me?

My friends on here and offline are more important to me than anyone I have ever been around before. Apart from my family and my cat sammy and my parents of course :). Some people like me, some don't but we all respect each other.

What I want to know is, when I speak what do you think about me, what do you feel? What do you know about me? How do you feel when I am around you? 

I am serious :). I do not troll. I am not the trolling sort.

Thats a question that is really hard to answer.  Lets start with number one, When I speak what do you think about me?  You dont actually speak, you type like the rest of us.  I cant hear your voice nor any tones that would tell me a lot, nor do I see any body languge which would also give information to me.  Most of us end up using our own imagination to add the missing info. Sometimes we hope we get it right, most of the time we get wrong.  It's the preception from the other people whom you type to that makes them like, or, in some cases dislike you.  Most of the people in here I think very little about as they are in other places on the globe and I don't interact with them on a daily basis.  So, I feel very little about them. I enjoy our commuication when we are on here.  I find most of it is small talk which is the safest, we usally dont talk about serious subjects cause it causes problems sometimes.   So, please forgive me for saying I feel nothing, except, for when we are exchanging pleasentries for a very short time.  Then I feel good.  But that is just one small area of one whole life.

You ask what do I know about you, only what you wish to convey, be it truth or not.  That's one thing you can never tell on the internet. I take everything on face value and hope that is true. There are times I find that some isn't.  So, I would have to say nothing at all.  

You ask what we feel when you are around us.  First, you arent around us at all.  You are sitting behind a computer somewhere in the world  like the rest of us.  I am one of your friends on the site Dylan, when we speak, we have a good time for a few minutes, when we sign off the site, and go back to the real world, I have no idea who you really are.  Nor do you have an idea of who I am.  Not really.  I can only tell you I know only what I see on your profile page.  That's all I really know.  Like you, I have friends I grew up with and friends I have now.  Some of us have grown apart, some come over to my house almost everyday, we talk on the phone, I been to thier homes.  We have talked of many things, we have fought, cried, laughed, celebrated birthdays, marriges, graduations, feunerals, and our feelings, someting that is hard to do on the internet, and, we have grown together.  You and I have been friends for 5 days on this site.  I don't know what to think yet, or how to feel, I know nothing about you at all except what is on your profile page, you will never be around me I think, except on this site, where we have contact with each other due to the chess.com.  I have known people on this site for 5 years, I cant tell you tell very much about any of them.  Just a few minor items, maybe a state, that they like to fish.  Some common ground thing that keeps us communicating together.  I cant tell you how they live, or what they believe, or what kind of person they are when not here on the site. I just don't live next door to them.  

I know this is not what you may have wanted to hear, but it is an honest answer to all your questions.  It's not meant to make you feel bad, it's just meant to honestly answer the questions you put before us.  I hope you can understand why my answers are the way they are....  Please, let me know what you think... I do look forward to exchanging some conversation and maybe a idea or 2 with you one day.  At least that is a hope of mine....

Honesty, wisdom, and courage to speak your mind. I am very impressed Terry. You are correct in what you have said here. You don't know much about me, only what I wish to convey with you. We don't know each other off the board because we don't know each other off the board but we still have nice conversations on here when we talk :).

I take none of this offensively. I take it with gratitude for being able to shine a light in my mind on the questions I asked. They are honest answers and ones I enjoyed reading. Thank you for the comment. It was very meaningful.

Say do you know of any chess openings for white and black you could teach me. Other than the Ruy Lopez for white. If you know the sicilian defense, I could use some help with it as black. I am trying my best to learn at least 3 openings for both colors but it is hard. I am going to be going to a school wide high school tournament soon so I need all the help with strategy, tactics, and some new openings I can get.

You've been here five days! How did you get such close friends already?

Thank you Terry. Trysts, my computer got a virus in it 2 weeks ago. On my old account, it lasted for about 6-7 months or more and I had a lot of friends and I was apart of many groups during that time period. I had to start over with everything I had and I had to search up my friends again. All of them. So the friends I have now have been friends with me for much longer than 5 days lol :).

No, he has only been my friend for 5 days is what i said, of course, he has only been here 6 days as well.  So, we became aquanted on his first day here...
