I don't much care for anybody else's religion except my own.

So, just let me revel in my deistic fantasy, man. How's it any skin off your back?

While I suspect there may still be life on Mars beneath the planet's surface...I dont think any kind of life can inhabit Mercury today.

God is not a supernatural creature.

The concept of "supernatural" itself is ridiculous.

There is no such thing. Everything happen within the laws of nature.

Ignorance lead people to think that the unexplained has to do with magic or divine intervention or the "supernatural"...

The reason I believe that there is a is God because in every upright human being there resides within him this inherent sense of right and wrong -- as is manifested even in yourself bobyyyy. Your vehemence against religion is borne from your concern that religion causes violence.

You got God in you.

Yes there is God in chimpanzees, in dogs, in birds, in cats, in roses, in bees, in ladybugs, in whales, in earthworms, in squirrels, in bears...in plants, in rocks

You remind me of this passage bob:

Acts 7:56.   And they (bobs) crying out with a loud voice, stopped their ears, and with one accord ran violently upon him.

Joseph is a great name. That is undeniable.

An excuse to not think.

How did something happen? God did it.

Science hard. Hurts brain.

God easy. No think.

For everything mundane - people should strive to THINK and OBSERVE to SEE what is really going on in the world that they live in because it does effect their lives...

But for the question of God - you can burrow through all its nooks and crannies but you'll will never be able to know what is beyond the walls of the maze that is your brain.

You can choose to be the mouse that says there is nothing beyond these walls...or...

I did not know that Eistein was a deist.

"Deism holds that God does not intervene with the functioning of the natural world in any way, allowing it to run according to the laws of nature." (Wikipedia)

Then I too am a deist - that was always my position.

I'm not a deist. I'm a Christian.

Along with 2.2 billion Christians.

I think we need to clarify what kind of "god" we are talking about:

a) Theist God, the god commonly associated with relgion cult, the type that cares about his creation, condemn and forgive sins, and actually plays an active rol in human affairs.

b) Deist god, the god you can find throguh reason and observation of nature, but has nothing whatsoever to do with religions or human affairs. The kind of god that basically turned on the machine, and let it run at it's own.

c) A Pantheist god, the god that is itself the universe, with all the laws and constant that make it work, it's not an individual per se, nor has a conciousness,  is just like let's say "mother nature".

there are more "conceptions" of god, but i think these three are basically the fundamentals.

Of course if you define your self as a christian, or muslim you are a theist.

Thanks for the clarifications granitoman...I may be somewhere between Deist and Pantheist...
