Benevolence is a conscious act, as is malevolence. The former is of God and the latter the anti-God (that's how I see it)...and thus far, I have only witnessed the conscious acts of malevolence in man, not in animals...

Well, you don't know... i mean if god created everything, he's responsible for both.
But as you say, acts of good or evil need by definition a conscious perpetrator.

and, they never offer an explainaition for where all the matter of the big bang came from. did it all exist forever? than how is it so hard to belive that god existed forever?

well that's the point. If god is the universe, then who created the universe? is the same as who created god?
And if you believe the universe existed forever, and universe is god, then both are mutually compatible.
