What happens if you report someone but they did nothing?

It's so easy to report people that I feel some people might abuse this to meet their ends, like say, get rid of rival users. Have there been any cases where people who did nothing were reported? If so, what happened?

Just curious

If you falsely report, it is counted as abuse.

I was getting falsely reported and I got 3 warnings and they never even muted me because I did nothing

If you did nothing, then those false reporters would probably be closed for abuse.

They didn't.

I literally just received a notice for verbal abuse.
But I haven’t cussed or insulted any of my opponents at all.

oof

I played one guy and he thought I was cheating because he was 100+ points above me.
But other than him, idk any other person that I’ve played against that would report me.
I hardly ever say anything to my opponents, unless they are the ones trash talking me, then I reply but I don’t trash talk back.

THIS IS SO UNFAIR!!!

Ikr. I am a 500 rating guy and I always beat 1500s. So I get reported. *sighs*

Honestly, that sounds like sandbagging. Not saying it is bc you could be really good. But it’s weird if you can beat high level people when you are below 1000.

I got muted for typing No U in the club WTF

Mute in the club? Or by the Chess Support?

No I’m not sandbag. I just happened to be at 500 and can’t go any higher and I just happened to beat 1500s in unrated games.

I think one of the club members muted me because I could post things in other clubs

Interesting.
Either way, I’m still annoyed that I’m being reported for something I’m not doing but have no idea who is reporting me or why.

Yeah. I got banned from a club for advertising even after I asked. No one answered, so I said that I made a forum to advertise a club and if it’s not allowed, any admin can delete it.

But I was kicked out.

Oh BELIEVE ME. My situation is worse. I’m getting massive reported, once again. And people call me a troll and people call me cheater because my 1st account was closed by fair play for innocent sandbag. I emailed chess.com they never believed me.
