What is computer illiteracy?

I can run virtual boxes. I can dual boot stuff.

Yet I am going to argue here that I am computer illiterate. To me computer illiteracy is:

"When a level of knowledge is so assumed that nobody will explain to you what you don't know".

For me it is a laptop presentation. I have no idea. If I had a laptop and I took it to somewhere to give a talk I'd have no clue. The video settings. Connecting it to whatever you connect it to. That's if I got past this "tagging and testing" business where I am sure that if anyone can blow up a whole library I can manage it.

Nobody will teach me the above stuff. Everyone assumes that I know it. I don't. And I have not the faintest idea about where I would go to learn it. I've never seen a ny courses. Nor can I see any osmosis such volunteering to learn it.

So I am computer illiterate. And I don't see that changing.
