I think it's something to do with beauty . It's beautiful so we love it . A reaction that's triggered . Sure we want it but we feel love .
But then there is empathy . Understanding . Acceptance . Perhaps we would use love in that sense . Fighting for the good of others . Maybe that type of love is an energy .

I agree with you Tom. Just take a look at God. He loves everyone unconditionally whether he is a thief, good person, murderer etc.. God Himself is the best example to make us understand what true love is.
He has given us the ability to truly love anyone just as He loves us. The thing is that kind of love is very rare in this world.
