Texas, the Lone Star State (formerly the Lone Star Republic nearly 200 years ago; maybe again someday?), also colloquially known as "it's like a whole other country". It certainly *has* an "other-country" mentality, much like California (and Utah).
What Is Texas

As a Texan, Texas is a place where you can stock up on guns for the apocalypse. Oh, and can go across the border to get cigarettes CHEAP.

Texas is bucees, HEB, and baseball rivalries between DFW and Houston
I live in the DFW. Grapevine Lake area. Oh fu- I just leaked my home…

And it’s big enough it be a top contender in Europe… Europe has small countries.

Texas is the 28th state to be admitted to the United States of America. It was admitted in 1845, briefly being its own territory in 1836 after declaring independence from Mexico and during the the Mexican-American War (1846 - 1848). It was one of the states that seceded from the union and joined the Confederate States of America during the American Civil War (1861 - 1865). 5 years after the Confederacy's defeat, in 1870, it was readmitted to the union. It is currently the second largest state in America (268,597 square miles, or 695,660 square kilometers) being beaten by Alaska, the second biggest economy ($2.709 Trillion circa 2024), being beaten by California, and the second biggest population (31.29 Million), being beaten again by California. Its nickname is the Lone Star state, in reference to its state flag, which presents a star on top of blue, with two stripes to its right, the top stripe being white and the bottom stripe being red.
I live in a state near Texas. I’ve been there before. Yes, I’ve been to one of the Buc-ees.
