I'm using an HP laptop that came with Vista, but now runs MEPIS 7, my favorite Linux distro (along with Ubuntu).

MEPIS also uses KDE, but I didn't have to compile anything (lucky for me-I'm not quite the techie...yet!)

I have a Dell XPS 410 running Vista.  I hear a lot of complaints about Vista but I have not had any problems with this OS.  I am not an IT guy, but I do a lot of gaming and internet-based stuff and have never encountered any problems or slowness.

Honestly Vista is not that bad, until recently if was the only way to play Halo 2 on PC, I have lots of old games that run great on my HP Pavilion laptop. Still look great in my trinitron. Vista got a pretty bad rap but it’s a viable OS

Amazing how my Dell Trinitron can run at 120hz. Never realized how nice CRTs were until I started getting older.

About a 7-year old desktop built by a local shop. Nothing special, even a little on the cheap side. It came with Windows 7 Pro. When Microsoft snuffed the life out of Windows 7 earlier this year, I switched to Linux Mint. I'm thinking of maybe trying out Manjaro, but idk, Mint is just sooo trouble-free.
