I haven't been around too many social sites. That said, swordforum.com used to (I must emphasize "used to") have a wonderful off-topic forum. The largest majority were good people from around the world who knew how to look past differences to find common ground in many areas. It was the only social site where I've developed actual friendships beyond normal camaraderie. There were fun threads but not the mindless stream of twaddle we see around here. Sadly, they did a restructure and all the good ones drifted off. C'est la vie

I know someone who quit twitter... he found and downloaded X later on... seems addicting, for those who aren't banned from there yet.

I closed my Facebook account because people either wanted to date me or to give them money and plus, the FB members are crashing bores! @HiramHolliday got banned from FB?!?! (I'm stunned.) Used to be on Twitter - got bored REALLY quickly. I chat with one friend on Google chat - the list used to be much longer. I guess I'm just not a social media person!
