What's The Deal With Microsoft Trying To Cram Windows 10 Down My Throat?

I loaded & used the GWX control panel 2 weeks ago and it seems to have squelched the problem.  I'm curious now if MS will force the upgrade in the '11th hour' on those who haven't taken measures like me.

I am an old fart, I am happy with windows 7 and V2 also. Why do the geeks always have to stir up the sh#t?

If they don't change programs all the time, they won't sell new programs. It's planned obsolescence at its worst.

They are always making older cars and trucks obsolete but the are still popular as hell Doc.

i don't know many people that go to floppy disk shows.

the major issue is that updates will not work on older os. then, some programs stop working.

Yeah Al I know it's all a scam. I have a 16 year old truck and I know if I go into the Chevy dealer to get someting fixed they won't tell me I need to trash it and buy a new truck.

Hess;  Winows 10 is designed to make your tower, work like a tablet. You can talk to it like Alexa. I'm still learning about it so I got this book at Barnes & Noble.  They also have Windows 10 for Seniors.                                                                                                       null

Ronald why would I want to talk to my laptop and then have to listen to it? I love silence, it's like so much peace to my ears.

LOL.wink.png     Commander Riker swears by it--W 10.   I think he was baiting me because he knows I like to swear.  After the holidays I'm gonna go look for a microphone.

At some point, they stop producing patches to their various bugs and entry points. Then you'll be vulnerable to hacking, worms, whatnots, griblets, grunties...

HessianWarrior

No idea how I screwed up and did a doppelganger.

Okay Doc, I work as a Volunteer at the public library in the Old Fart Center close to my home. There are 12 computers for public use in there and all of them are on Windows 7. I have been to two of the other libraries and both of them had about 30 computers each on Windows 7. Then there is one more I haven't been to and it's a full scale library so I am going to assume it has at least 30 also.

So the city has a big investment in Windows 7 and they aren't budging off Windows 7. I was in a volunteers meeting a couple of years ago with the library staff and they said they were thinking of going to Windows 10. Hasn't happened yet and no talk about it anymore.

I think the Tech guys, and the people who spend the publics money smelled rotted fish and shelved it.
