I'm saving up for a suite of real chainmail and plate armour.

It'll take ages and ages and ages and mean I'll be living on toast and beans, but... Whatever.

Turtle kid may have won the contest, but if it's any consolation he wouldn't last 5 minutes in medieval France.

Yeah you see mabye one or two nowadays because people don't wanna work just buy a plastic costume. I went another year as a guy in a hurricane where I pulled a umbrella backwards gelled my hair in every direction and put 2 by 4's in the back of my pant legs and shirt and a kid in a plastic thor costume won never put my money into costumes again.

It is creative of you though, very much so. I tried knitting once.....

I wore it on the side. It was a wooden one about 2 feet long I have a real sword now though a short sword it is iranian with a decorated sheath and crossbrace. I'll send a picture sometime.

It's not about what some people think about it.

Dress up for fun, for the sense of achievement when you do so,etching that looks great. Be proud. I guess they must have thought it was a shelf bought costume.

They don't see the hours. Nor do the readers of many novels. Nor do the viewers of your movie, your painting, your costume.

But you do. And it feels great. Simply great.

I enjoy Halloween, we decorate the house , attend all the festivities, we're feeling it. It's the heart of Autumn, and Kaynight you're gonna grow old with a lot of regrets, go get yourself a costume and have some fun.

I used to do Halloween. years ago I got in a cardboard box, painted it. Stuck some stuff on, and made a dalek. It was great fun.

But anyway I'm not so fussed on Halloween anymore. Where I'm from they over do it... A lot.

Hallowe'en, to me, is whimsical. I used to dress up in a homemade outfit to meet kids at the door but I've gotten lazy. I still thoroughly enjoy seeing kids in their costumes and chatting with each one. I don't get to interact with children much at other times.
