#4 I understand what you're saying and yes talking to a friend can help, but talking to a professional can also be beneficial, because they truly do care.
Speak to a trusted adult or a professional, and if you can't, DM one of us. Either way will help you!

Your advice is only valid in parts of the world where mental health conversation is not stigmatized. Carceral sanism can be a to prison pipeline and leave a lasting mar on your civil rights. Your innermost thoughts and fears could be thought crimes or taboos in a theocracy, exposing you to brutal “conversion” therapies.
Familiarize yourself with the laws and culture of your locale, especially regarding patient rights and confidentiality. Be careful who you confide in.
The world is a terrible place—and it is getting worse, not better.

I joined OTF about a month and a half ago, during my time here I've noticed many people creating similar threads about contemplating suicide or committing self-harm. I would like to try and help the community that I have joined, that is why I created this thread... Please no arguing, only helping!
Whenever you feel down or have suicidal thoughts, please try to find and talk to a counselor or a hotline, their job is to help you in these situations. If you can't access one for one reason or another, speak to someone you trust or come here, this wonderful and kind community can help you get through your problems.
When you feel down, remember that there is always people who care about you, wether that be a family member, friend, neighbor, or even this community. When you have these thoughts think of this quote, "When a heart breaks, it ain't broken forever. The pieces will grow back together. And in time, I'll be fine. The tears are temporary." -Temporary by Eminem. Life is a gift it may be bad right now, but when you feel like you've hit rock bottom, there's only one way to go and that's up, life will get better.
But please whenever you have suicidal or self-harm thoughts, talk to a counselor, trusted adult, or a hotline, they will help you get through whatever you are going through.
