Where are my fellow percussionists at?

I have been playing percussion for 8 years, so I want to hear from anyone else who plays perc. Simply tell me how long you have been playing, what is your favorite instrument in perc, and how good you think you are.

For me, my favorite instrument in percussion has to be marimba or timpani. I am pretty good at percussion, but have recently been learning how to play with four mallets.

I am a strings player.

my brother is a little into music. For percussion, they mostly played marimba and steel drum. As for me, I'm terrible with instruments. Best music I've got is singing and even that is only "meh" in my opinion, but whatever, I make up for it with academics, sports and other things xD

just goggle it xD It is like steel pan instruments, but not as curved where you hit.

Interesting, I would honestly like to play that myself.

Though those guys must have major brain damage from getting whacked on the head with a mallet.

(and TBH, I have done that before myself, but with a good reason, I swear!)
