Is it worse? Or do we merely perceive it as being worse despite all the technological advancements or even because of it?
Voices that weren't heard before owing to lack of credibility are now enabled by the internet and amplified by echo chambers. It may me the voice is the uninformed few that crowds it the rest that makes it seem this bad.

I feel as if the last 4 or so years (Covid and after) have really made the world worse. Everything costs more and gives less, for example food, online services/subscriptions, etc. No one wants to interact socially and more and more happens behind screens rather than in person. Talking about politics, interests, etc. has gotten so much more polarized and argumentative. All my interests have been ruined, for example I cannot name a good song from the past 2 years, chess has gotten more computerized, Youtube has been taken over by Shorts, and so on. Have you seen the movie Idiocracy? It's supposed to be a fictional comedy about how humans will become dumber in a few hundred years from now because the dumbest ones are the one breeding the most, and it just gets worst every year. Now the movie is becoming a documentary, because it's seem to be true. I mean look it America for example, we have 2 old dinosaur presidents gonna run again in 2024. It's just sad, nobody trusts our government anymore because FINALLY people are starting to become woke. They are waking up to the reality that the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. They realize their parents and grandparents had a more affordable housing and college then Millennials and Gen z generation. You can trace it back to when Ronald Reagan was still president and gave us the "trickle down economics" AKA Reaganomics, which basically means cut taxes for the rich and give them more money to build companies and the wealth will "trickle down" for everybody....which is complete BS because the rich got richer and poor got poorer in the past 40 years and it's finally showing.

I test pessimistic things against what you say here before I post anything, honestly these things are so widespread not just here that I feel like a big enough portion of the populations affected
