Thanks for the new post AlCzervik. In my collection of vidoes I've got the Blue Jays team highlights for the 91,92 & 93 seasons as well as the MLB videos for the 92 & 93 World Series. Joe Carter certainly came into his own when he was traded to Toronto and was rewarded with TWO World Series Rings for his efforts.

Well we had the Toronto home opener for 2016 take place the other day and things are underway again ( and let me just add GO JAYS GO !!! ).

AlCzervik

the jays have a great team, but this may be the year of the cubs.

the team has players sitting that would be starters on other teams. i know this is no guarantee of success, but, madden could do it.

badenwurtca

Thanks for the post AlCzervik. Yes I hope that the Cubs have a good season as well.

For any NHL Fans out there the Pittsburgh Penguins will be playing the San Jose' Sharks for the Stanley Cup.

Muhammad Ali has passed away today at age 74.

---   Well " Sid The Kid " should be happy as the Penguins have now won the cup.

Well the Olympics are happening in Rio ( green water and all   lol ). Canada has now reached the 10 medal mark and it's all been done by our female athletes. Indeed had the men been holding up their end then we would at least be at the 20 medal mark   rofl.

speaking of the dh, today was arods last day. there doesn't seem to be a lot of tears for this cheater.

as with others, the ironic thing is that they would have been hof'ers without the drugs.

griffey jr. was inducted easily.

bonds, sosa, clemens, arod...

i agree with tony kornheiser. induct those that were great, but, on the plaque, state that they used ped's.

badenwurtca

Thanks for the post AlCzervik. Yes it is a shame that PEDs made their way into Baseball. The only good thing that Bud Selig did ( and yes I do mean the only good thing ) was that he tightened up the rules a bit in the game.

And so we now have a " New Watergate " scandal. Yes a few members of the American swim team wanted to have some fun in Brazil and then lied to the Police about what had gone on. Not a good way to behave when away from one's homeland. It might be said that these were just youngsters out for a good time but I gather that one member of this happy troop is 32 years old, no longer a kid to be sure   lol.

Well I see that Boston, Toronto and Baltimore are jostling for the top spot in the AL East, also the Cubs are running away with the NL Central ( is this the year that the Cubbies go all the way ? ).

AlCzervik

yes!

(us die hards hope)

the division you mention has a great race. people talk about how baseball is slow, but, in a pennant race, at the game, you can fell the tension others have. in the moment it's palpable.

AlCzervik

speaking of the dh (which i hate) papi is having a huge last year.

it's incredible due to the dh rule. if it weren't for the dh, papi would never have passed williams and mantle in homers.

is papi a hof'er? yes. but, he'll never compare to mays, aaron, ruth...

Thanks for the posts AlCzervik.

Just had the Blue Jays game on the radio. Toronto over Seattle 3 to 2 ( looking good ).

badenwurtca

Well the Blue Jays won 2 out of 3 games in Seattle and are now playing some games against the NY Yankees. Toronto is still holding onto a wild-card spot so there is still hope for the post-season   lol.

AlCzervik

they have the best chance.

Thanks for the post AlCzervik.
