Its a shame the forum was closed down. Bad decision making from that Mod.
I didn't actually know the World Championships were going to be held in Iran, so it was informative and about Chess.
Yes, it makes you feel like why bother...
I went back and saw it was a pic posted by gromius that was removed by the mod. He was also one of those involved with derogatory and abusive comments.

You asked me that? No, I don't. Seems like it wasn't the only misunderstanding, as I've never claimed to have Galician origins (that's all I needed!). You must be right though, it took me several years only to learn proper Spanish. But hey, 4th language on the world and rising on the States (at least how they speak it there)! Fluent on Galician (very beautiful) and even Castrapo (all you need to deal with Arraianos).
Ah. I recall you were the OP. The lock did happen rather quick with no warning. However, few were quickly getting out of control. The member posting the pic has a prior history. I recall you warned him. Next time (since we all know this kind of topic can be volitile) a warning sign might be posted, as Elroch does with his threads. The Mod might have let the thread continue if he saw you were proactive from the beginning. It's not a perfect world nor an ideal chess.com. No doubt some mod's may get trigger happy, have their rash moment. Learn the ins and outs to get what you want.
Actually to be fair the mod did say that they might reopen the thread again after it was sanitised but i was so incensed at the churlish and boorish behaviour of aforementioned Muppet and the heavy handed and in my opinion unnecessary locking down of what until that point had been a fairly fruitful discussion that I did not acquiesce. I simply could not see why the image was not removed and the dullard who posted it censored.
