"Hidden hypnotist affects player by just staring at him from a distance." <- Well Mr Conejo, you know that some people could only have what happened in Fischer - Spassky as usual for every match.
Worst chess movie

The bunny had the misfortune of watching Netflix's The Coldest Game today. Expected more from Bill Pullman.
Math genius is chess genius.
A 5 game match.
15 minute break in the middle of each game.
Arbiter is called judge.
Judge is called to propose draw.
Players blitzing their moves.
Loser walking off from a lost game.
Loser tipping the king.
Hidden hypnotist affects player by just staring at him from a distance.
Are you saying that it's terrible overall or just that you object to the unrealistic chess scenes?
The bunny is, for once, at a loss for words. This movie is an indescribable horror. The shock left the bunny unable to even move enough to turn off his TV until the movie was over.
Everything was unrealistic. As Pandy said they were cutting and pasting events from the Fischer spassky match with the Cuban missile crisis as the background. While Fischer played c4, this was just a C-4 explosive disaster.
The American proposes a draw, gets rejected, and forces one and reproposes, and in accepting the Russian gives him a standing ovation.
OK, so the bunny found a few words...
the trailer was pretty good though, nice and short. watching it again is an option. but the bloke really portrays the chess genius well, pockmarked face, twisted mouth, indicating thoughts of violence are harbored, looks really disillusioned with the universe, a real down and out type, a smile would probably crack his face. the only thing missing from the trailer really is the t-shirt with “i was left for dead in Manhattan, woke up in Mexico, got myself robbed etc etc and all i got was this manky t-shirt”.
well his name in the movie was mansky - that's gotta count for something.

Between Dead Pool, Blade, or R. I. P. D.
I thought he did best in Dead Pool.... .....

don't know why but he always reminds the bunny of cary elwes
Has nobody else watched this movie? Is the bunny the only one who felt physically sick after watching it? Is anyone out there?

I don't have Netflix. But I know only two or three Netflix movie in the whole year are good. So, Netflix is not worth the subscription.

I watched the first twenty minutes or so but then gave up on it when he started swilling vodka and winning.
Thank you for letting us know.

You're most welcome. The bunny just didn't want to be alone in his misery. Misery shared is misery lessened. At least for the bunny.

The bunny got it for his kids. Supposedly. True, the movies could be used to vacuum an entire aircraft hangar. However some of the series are interesting.
I have not seen this film but an interesting Chess movie that I saw some years ago was " The Luhzin Defence ". I remember that some Chess purists did not care for this film but I thought that it was okay.

I watched it, not very good. I actually thought Pullman did ok considering he only got the role two days before shooting because the original actor that was cast was in an accident.
The hypnotist scene was accurately portrayed (guy named Zukhar).

Luzhin was endorsed by Jesus himself. Besides.

Thanks for the info. The original lead choice might have brought more drama to the movie.
Also wasn't the zukhar episode during the karpov korchnoi match.
