Would you rather: own an unknown universe or own a  powerful universe but everyone in there don’t think?

I'd rather own an unknown universe. First of all, the second option would be good if you were a mind-controlling dictatorship, but I I prefer the first because I would want everyone in my universe to be able to think for themselves. 

Secondly, maybe I already own said universe: it is unknown after all 

p.s. I don't own a universe (surprising, right? xD)
