Already did.

Come to twitchCon EU and you can look at my face all the time while I take your pieces .

Is your alternate account approved by staff? Are you breaking the chess.com TOS?

Mods have a civilian account and a moderator account. Obviously both are approved by staff.

For example, when we're streaming or teaching somebody, we'd use the civilian account, which doesn't have any special powers.

What do mods listen to? (I'm asking the TYPE of music.)

Pretty much everything!

I tend to hear a song somewhere (a stream, the supermarket, with friends, at some event) and then I listen to that song on repeat for a couple of weeks to focus.

Known artists in my playlist are Eminem, Taylor Swift, Linkin Park, and Dua Lipa. But most songs are from random unknown artists. I guess it's mostly Pop, Orchestral, and EDM. For example Cold Cinema – For the Win or Naski – Vacant.

I’ve heard that mods have to be active in all different areas of the site, how much does that mean?

No, the opposite is true: Most mods have one or two areas they focus on.

For me, that's the discord, and technical support for mods. Other mods might be very active on twitch, YouTube, reddit, this forum, public chats, or focusing on something specific on the site (e.g. avatars or usernames).

Opinion on AI pictures and art? Is it even “art”?

My hot take… AI is merely a tool… perhaps similar to a paintbrush.

i would say it’s fair to consider content generated with AI as art. The operator did have to provide the prompts and parameters going into generating the content.

I have not discussed this with other moderators… IMO, AI is not a human and is not granted the same rights as a human (ie. Human rights).

however, if you attempt to dehumanize an individual (such as calling a human a clanker) this could be abuse and harassment.

#817 but ai doesn’t make anything new, it just steals from others and combines what it takes

#820 a duck walked up to a grocery store, and he said to the man running the store
“Hey, bumbumbum, got any grapes?”
The man said “yeah, they’re in the produce aisle, but we’ve got much more, maybe stay a while?”
The duck said “um, no, but thanks”
Then he waddled away

What is Art? I think you missed my masterclass on Skibidi Chess, Dadaism, meme culture and Readymades of Marcel Duchamp.

"The readymades of Marcel Duchamp are ordinary manufactured objects that the artist selected and modified... By simply choosing the object (or objects) and repositioning or joining, titling and signing it, the found object became art."

AI doesn't generate content by itself... it requires someone to provide the prompts and instructions for what to create.

"Derivative work" is the term used for work based on or combining the works of others. "The derivative work becomes a second, separate work independent from the first." What AI generates is definitely a derivative work.

IMO, the primary issue is not wether it's art (it is... see my masterclass) but whether the AI or person sending AI the prompts or instructions were permitted to use the underlying works to create new work.
