Do you need that blue (or green ) pawn flair to be in your profile?

I don't think it needs to be there but I dont know how to change it.

I like the chess.... and chatting with others. There are some really nice people here.

Avatar of AwesomeAtti

I like puzzles the most.

is this still open? because if so then I personally feel the chess.com moderation team needs to have more active members, and more members from more diverse communities (like LGBTQ, or being a furry, or some other minority I cant name off the top of my head) that way there will be a larger stance on what is and isn't harmful to other people.

and there needs to be a better reporting system, because there isn't much feedback that shows when you report a user, just a pop-up basically saying "you have reported this user; good job!" and only MAYBE does something get done about it.
I feel reporting should have more of an impact, like when at least one member reports something then a moderator has to review said thing.
okay, that may be a little too much, but there should be like a review system like for 3 members reporting a comment, then it should definitely be reviewed.
like for example, the fact that the user BurgerEatersInc keeps not shutting up about his absolute hatred to AI to the point where it's basically spam; and the fact that it is actually kinda offending me (if you know what a Protogen is, then you would know why)

anyway, that's just my opinion. if you like my ideas then let me know.

@arraslynx always open for business. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and concerns (seriously).

How do you know how diverse the staff and moderator team are and that they don't already meet your thresholds?

The community policy doesn't allow harassment and abuse... this can cover a lot of harmful content. EVERY reported comment is reviewed and action taken if it violates the community policy. Once you report it, you can also DM me if it's urgent. Not all actions we take may be seen publicly. I like your suggestion about more feedback.

Hmmm... hatred towards AI... is that another way of saying technophobe? That isn't covered by the community policy... people can trash talk Windows, macOS or Linux too. I don't think this is harmful. I do think targeting and attacking someone based on protected identity factors (such as nationality, race, disability, religion, gender or sexual orientation) can be very harmful and will be addressed (again, please report and DM me).

You can block others and this will prevent them from commenting on topics you create, DMing you or being paired in a chess match.

I don't want to be rude, but you're Fet.

SNCR, I'm a huge fan of dad jokes.

If you or a friend of yours fit these criteria, feel free to apply at https://www.chess.com/blog/KobraBytes/the-chess-community-needs-you .

Bear in mind though that when we're moderating, our personal convictions must not influence our moderation.

Of course there can be slight differences; for example, as a German I'm more sensitive to Nazi references that might go unnoticed by mods from other countries.

But a furry moderator must also action inappropriate furry posts, e.g. in #chess-talk in the discord, where we're only allowing chess-related content.

What’s your favorite game that’s not chess

Chess960 wink

But I also like Settlers of StarCraft, Risk, and Settlers of Catan, although these days, I only watch them and try to focus my gaming time on various forms of chess.

You can edit any of your comments (including the first comment in a topic or the topic title). You can delete any of your comments unless it is the first comment in a topic that already has other comments by others. Perhaps convince all others to delete their comments and when they are all deleted you can delete the topic.
