'You are using a computer' !

Having received a few of these accusations over the years I've decided to start a thread regarding the issue.

The last incident was a couple of days ago but it has been playing on my mind and I'm struggling to compute a rationale that brings people to the point of ridiculing themselves by touting such a wild accusation !

The manner in which I play has something to do with it I think....

Playing against the clock...., the ability to 'pre-select' a piece, (based on the assumption that my prediction is accurate regarding my opponents next move), means that I can respond within microseconds to my opponents move and the only interval introduced AFTER that pre-selection is my response time to the last played move, hence, this results in a relatively fast response time....(unless the move was not as I predicted!).

Using that strategy early on in a game will leave my opponent looking at their screen thinking 'HOW can a player respond to my move(s) so quickly' and they arrive at the wrong conclusion.......usually spouting it out.....YOU ARE USING A COMPUTER !!!

Well, of COURSE I'm using a computer.

Playing Chess requires TWO computers.....one plugged into the wall.......the other being bio-molecularly powered and residing between my ears......

I often use that strategy as it buys 30 seconds to a minute of time which I can usually win the game on If I stave off their efforts.

I suppose that 'style' of play could be frowned upon but as I'm ultimately relying on my predicition(s) based on your last move, I'm only playing the game......but in a different style, (which doesn't always work and I lose a lot of games as a result) !

Anyway......where I'm going with this is.......

If anyone were to start cheating by using third party software, their response time would be SLOWED down..........not SPEEDED up !

Would you agree ?

You would need to enter the players last move and then wait for a response before actually making the next move so it would be logical to conclude that a player who is taking LONGER than usual to calculate a move, (and then annihilates you), would be far more likely to be 'consulting' a source of data/information other than what resides in their little head(s) ?

Supplementary......do these people not consider your 'rating' ?

Surely anyone using anything like that would have a rating of 500000000 !

Lol !

All/any opinions will be appreciated happy.png

that's right. Besides even if someone's using computer, all of them can be defeated at some point....and if we loose, that means our decisions(moves) weren't good enough. I don't like that actually, the complaining part. The game is to make wiser, not to complain and make fool of themselves.

Your idea of strategizing to predict their next move,

based on their former move, to speed

up your response time is so very human!

Yes, it's ironic that your opponent

then thinks you're a computer!!!

I have never played by computer,

but I would bet that wouldn't be in their

program!!!

Nothing wrong with premoves, pretty much a requisite in bullet chess in fact.

Indeed !!! How else could you play bullet ? That's why I'm still wondering about the odd accusations !
