I'm having trouble finding some decent films to watch.

Going on the basis that you are all chess players who have similar tastes to me what are your favourite  films of all time.

To give you some idea of my preferences :-

1. In the Heat of the Night .

2. Morgan: A suitable Case for treatment.

3.As Good as it Gets.

Thanks.

Les Misrrables-the movie musical with Russell Crowd that came out a few years ago is my favorite movie version. Halloween-- a classic horror film. Star Trek II The Wrath of Kahn

Had you seen Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon?  Its really so beautiful!  i liked As Good as it Gets too..  What did you like about it? If it is an actress, actor.. search their name..Another Jack Nicholson movie would be 'About Schmidt', and was interesting..  From the earlier times, 'Giant' with Rock Hudson, young Liz Taylor, James Dean,, a very young Dennis Hopper was pretty intriguing.. One last one! - Very watchable is 'The Misfits' with Clark Gable, Marilyn Monroe and Montgomery Clift. Our library has a good selection, spanning the years.

Thank you for those suggetions.  As Good As It Gets is one of my favourites because there isn't a single boring moment in the whole film.

The "Good-Bye Girl" is another of my favs for the same reason.

Finding Forrester looks like a good plot but I don't like the macho Shaun Connery. Exit through the Giftshop looks even better but can't,as yet, find a pirate copy. I'm just downloading I think I Love my Wife now.

Not interested in animation.

So thank you very much for posting.

The Painted Veil is good period piece. It had echo's of 'A kind Of Loving' from the 60's..another brilliant social commentry but on Northern Britain. One I can very much recommend.
