Can't view old live games?

well, we had to wipe the database a few days ago, so everythign since then - YES :)

how can I view my old games or other people's?

You can either go to their profile and up the top there will be "Live Chess or Online Chess" (Some might not have it but most do)
Or you can go to http://www.chess.com/echess/myhome.html to view your online chess games. or Live Chess here -
