chat disabled in turn-based games

I recently made the mistake of posting a private note about my upcoming moves in the "chat" tab instead of the "notes" tab.  This would allow my opponent to see my plan!  I noticed my error right away, so I disabled the chat feature in the game.  Can my opponent still read it, or will the entire tab be eliminated from his screen?

I'm not certain. I think all previous text stays there.

martin, can we start a non-rated game to test the theory?  we can exchange a short dialog, then you can disable the chat... i will resign then.

In v3 I just see chat disabled, no chat history.

Nice test! Thanks for posting results. I have a few friends who sign up for chess.com and I can chat with them during our daily games, but others it just says "Chat disabled" and I can't chat with them. This is not intentional, I don't believe, and they can't figure out how to turn it back on. Does anyone know how they can enable chat for daily games? One guy I asked said he didn't seem to have it in his settings in his iPhone app. Not sure about the other people.

In the app it should be in Settings > Daily > Allow Chat. 

They said they don't see that setting...
