Those criticisms are nothing new and a lot of people would agree with most of them.
You must be aware that chess.com has been building a new version for several years now. I assume you have tried the V3 demo site. What do you think of it?

You are absolutely right. This is my first time in the forums so I did not even see that V3 was being developed or had a Beta already. I've played with it for a bit and it looks like a lot of improvements have been added. Still some things I mentioned that I'd like to see but for a Beta it looks great. Thanks for the information!
V3 has been a long time coming - if you're trying it, please make generous use of "Report a Bug" link near the top right hand side whenever you find or see something that needs fixing or changing (second icon to the right of the "Old Chess.com" link that reverts you to the current interface).
This will open up a screen where you can capture the info on screen and submit it automatically. It would also be a great mechanism for capturing and reporting any offensive behaviour that you witness - at the moment, people have to be savvy enough to grab a screen shot, save it to an image hosting site, and refer to it through the Support link: this is a LOT more immediate and actionable.
Is V3 ever really coming? I am loving the beta and the direction things are headed around here but there's rumors that it's just never going to move from the state it's in now. Truth to them?

Where have you been hearing rumors? Is there any reason to believe the rumors? You don't say.
It seems to me that they are making progress and progressively adding features to V3.
Live Chess was only added several months ago. That has to be the biggest part of the whole deal.

This is mostly for the Chess.com staff and programers.
I've been a premium member of this site for over 3 years now and I've noticed that there has been little improvement on features and functionality when compared to other chess sites. Let me elaborate:
1. Computer workout is utter rubbish. Most drawing positions don't teach anything because the computer assumes you will play perfectly and just repeat moves instead of pushing for a win. Also I cannot take back a move because the computer will immidiately play it's move as soon as I hit the button (This might be just me but I've tried with different computers).
2. It is beyond me why we don't have a preinstalled engine when analyzing finished games like some other chess sites have, it'd be way more convenient than having to load a GUI and do it manually. Actually you can do that in the mobile app for Chess.com, just not in the main site.
3. The video lessons page can use a lot of work, it can have a similar layout as youtube videos where you can choose related, previous or following videos to the one you're watching; favoriting videos, watch later, etc.
4. Tactics trainer's rating points seem slightly unfair. Getting the tactic right even after time is up should give you zero points at worse, you got the combination right after all. Sometimes I'll use 50% of the time and get something like 1 or 2 points but if I fail the tactic it takes 8-9 points right off. Not that I care much about the rating but it just seems to be inaccurate is all.
5. Live Chess seems to be full of bugs:
-Sometimes sounds for my opponent's moves will be muted, either all sounds or just some (captures, castling, checks, etc.) This seems to be completely random.
-The Board size seem too small even in the largest settings. For a big monitor it's a problem since it makes miss-clicks a very common occurance.
-The 10 second warning sound is way too quiet. I understand that you should always watch the clock but the advantage of playing online as opposed to on the board is that you can use sounds and visual cues to focus more on your Chess and less on hitting a clock. I'd just like the sound to be a little more "alarming" so it's less likely to be missed when you're very concentrated. Or at least have multiple sound options for people who want louder warnings and those who do not.
That's all I can think of for now. I really love this site and would like to see it become the best one.
