Tracking a blog should be just by going to that specific blog and checking the tracking box top right of the 'reply' text entry box at the bottom of the blog. Then if anyone else replies to that blog you get an alert for it.
If you track a person you're only alerted if they post anything new.
As for untracking ..
If you track a blog or thread anywhere, to un-track all you need to do is go to that same blog/thread and un-check the 'track this forum/blog' and you shouldn't then get any alerts for it.
un-tracking a locked thread or a blog/thread someone has blocked you from posting on is a known issue. At the moment its not actually possible for anyone to untrack themselves from a thread where they have been blocked by the OP - or un-track themelves from a locked thread. Support staff 'can' do this for you.
It does take a few minutes to do each thread you list so for anyone reading this, if you do give us a list of threads to be done, it may take anywhere from 5 minutes to 45 minutes to remove the tracking for you, but its certainly possible. We are hoping this issue will be addressed in the new version though.
Two items:
1.
as these are locked (or in one case, I am blocked from) I cannot untrack them, and since I use tracking as a bookmark function, I need to untrack these. Please do it for me? patzer24 offered someone else on chess.com to do this, and I found the thread, yet patzer24 does not seem to answer my request for help. thanks again.

2. I have sought help on the forums, and have not received any help. Can you tell me how to track blogs? I post in blogs, and they do not show up as 'I have posted in' because that only refers to forums I have posted in , not blogs.
I click on 'tracking' yet they do not show up as "I am tracking' because this only refers to forum threads I am tracking.
please advise as to how premium members can track blogs. I have also tried to track the author of the blog, and that, too, does not show up. I would like a way to bookmark blogs on the chess.com site, not having to use the bookmark function of my browser.
Thank you.
